Spark Class - Startup Series with The Center for Women & Enterprise

Taught by Gwen Pokalo, director of the Center for Women & Enterprise in Vermont, this six-session course is an opportunity to learn about and explore starting a business. Participants will engage with foundational knowledge about putting ideas into action as well as important considerations when starting a business.

The sessions will cover these topics:

Is Entrepreneurship Right For You?
Explore the process and learn about the risks and rewards of starting your own business.

Steps to Starting a Business
Develop your business ideas and planning, leave the session with an A-to-Z overview and specific tools and
tips that will help you get started quickly.

Legal Considerations for New Business Owners
Learn about the range of legal issues to protect and ensure success of your new business. Taught by an
attorney.

Financing Strategies: Learn From the Experts
Understand the variety of financing options available to you as a new business owner, and strategies for
raising funds as well as what investors and lenders look for when making financial decisions.

Business Plan Basics
Understand the variety of financing options available to you as a new business owner, and strategies for
raising funds as well as what investors and lenders look for when making financial decisions.

 

Details: Enrollment is free of charge and limited seats are available. A committment to attending each class is appreciated. The course is designed for women, open to all. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.

The classes will be held at Hazen Union School in Hardwick from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on the following dates:
