World Harmony Singing for Teens

  • Fellowship Hall 165 East Craftsbury Road Greensboro, VT, 05841 United States (map)

Come and sing out with this Youth Chorus, led by Maria Schumann! Sing healing songs and mountain songs from Georgia; Lithuainian sutartines - ancient ritual rounds sung at solstices and seasonal celebrations; Ukrainian love songs; British farming songs; American Shape Note Hymns and more!

Maria Schumann has been singing Balkan and Shape Note Music as long as she can remember. As a child growing up in the Bread and Puppet Theater, singing was part of daily life. Maria sang with the Yale Slavic Chorus in college, led the Bread and Puppet Chorus in the late 1990’s, and now sings and teaches songs in her kitchen, in apple orchards and barns, and whenever she gets the chance.
